Bali: a trip based on the awesome Hong Kong Airlines business class fares we booked in August 2018
It's been a while, I know, since my last update. Last year we didn't take any international trips, so I didn't feel as inclined to get back into this blog. However recently we went to Hong Kong (via layover), Bali and Singapore (for 1 day). This trip was quite exhausting - 8 nights total including the HK layover, with 1 night in Singapore. It all started with accidental business class fares on Hong Kong Airlines in August last year. I think we paid ~$630K USD per ticket for business class SFO > HK > DPS and back. Yes this is cheaper than some economy fares. After frantically texting my +1, we decided on dates in March for 1.5 weeks. I knew the deal wouldn't last so I was excited after the booking was confirmed. Booking 6 months in advance meant not doing much of anything for 3 months, and then the research began.
